The mission of the Community Food Cupboard is to ensure that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food and resources that will help them to acheive their potential. We do this by forming local partnerships, working to ensure the sustainability of our food system, and advocating to strengthen the social safety net for low-income families.

CFC has been in operation since June of 1990. Hundreds of families from Manchester and fifteen surrounding towns receive assistance from CFC each month, and each week we distribute about 5,000 pounds of food and other neccesities. We are located in the Manchester Center Town Office Building, 6039 Main Street. Our Board of Directors is made up of community members and representatives from six area religious congregations. We are staffed by more than one hundred volunteers from throughout the community as well as one part-time employee. We are a member agency of the Vermont Foodbank.

CFC is sustained solely by donations from individuals, local businesses and organizations. Food donations are always welcome and a list of donation drop spots is available on our How-To-Help page. Financial donations to CFC are incredibly important to our continued operation and allow us to ensure that we provide a balanced selection of nutritious foods each week. Through bulk buying and our partnership with the Vermont Foodbank, a $25 donation to CFC can bring 100 pounds of food to a family in need.
