Who We Are
The mission of the Community Food Cupboard is to provide food for those in need in our area. We achieve this by serving the community as part of a religious commitment to help all of God’s family. Hundreds of low-income families receive assistance from CFC, we distribute about 15,000 pounds of food each month. CFC is a member agency of the Vermont Foodbank.
Responding to the work of the state's Hunger Task Force, the Community Food Cupboard of Manchester opened officially in June 1990. CFC is 501(c)3 charitable organization and we are sustained by donations of food and funds from individuals, organizations, businesses and foundations.
CFC is staffed by more than one hundred volunteers from throughout the community as well as one part-time employee. We are overseen by a 15-member Board of Directors representing the following religious congregations:
